Our good friend, Loree Schubert, introduced my husband, Jerry, and me to the whole grains concept. I was interested from the "get go" and have always known that "we are what we eat." Since Jerry and I started going to Beverly’s classes, I have bought bread in an emergency only twice. We are genuinely hooked and glad of it. On average I bake 5 loaves a week but often twice that amount because my grandchildren love "Mimi’s" bread. That is really exciting because I know they are getting the health benefits of whole grain.

Both Jerry and I attended the Basic Fundamentals class, and then every other class Bev has offered: Advanced & Holiday Breads, Drag Your Man, Whole Grain Pasta, Filled Pasta, French Bread & Soup, Pizza Rustica, Mexican Soups & Flatbreads, Rustic & Country Breads, Salads & Tea Breads and more.

I have always loved baking bread, but this is as good as it gets when you know that you are making a difference in the health of everyone in the family. Although it has just been such a short time since we were introduced to Bare Essentials, I just can’t imagine making bread any other way.

Jerry was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis a few years back, and it was so bad and debilitating it was taking over his life. A regimen of Prednizone and Sulfasalazine was prescribed. Severe side effects were experienced including "moon-face," water retention, and facial erethema. After several years of being utterly frustrated and with no positive results, he stopped taking all medication and at the insistence of a retired surgeon and good friend began taking Mannatech Supplements that Beverly also endorses. Later we learned of the whole grain classes and began baking and eating whole grain bread.

Within 60 days he was experiencing virtually no symptoms of the disease nor has he had a recurrence or any sign of it since. His doctor is amazed that his bowel now appears completely normal.

We are convinced that with the whole grains in our diet we will stay healthy and free of such ailments!
